Our beautiful range of Luster Lantern glass Christmas decorations, are all mouth-blown into moulds, giving each one its smooth shape. These baubles are more lightweight and delicate than our other glass and is semi-transparent, allowing light to pass through the decoration and cast a beautiful hue in your chosen colour.
When hung on a Christmas tree, placed in a garland or adorning a wreath, a Luster Lantern glass bauble reflects and refracts light, creating a beautifully festive ambience. The baubles each have a detailed bronze cap and co-ordinating organza pouch and measure approximately 5cm in diameter.
So, what makes the luster finish on our decorations?
The rainbow effect on our Luster glass is made with a solution which has been applied to the outside of the glass, immediately after it is has been released from its mould (after it has been blown).
As our luster decorations have the effect created from the outside of the decoration, it is then coloured from the inside. When colour is done from the inside, it can take longer to dry, and as such small sediment spots may appear, this is simply where some of the colour has tried to evaporate and has dried quicker than other parts within the bauble. This is perfectly normal, and unavoidable in the process of creating these beautiful hand-crafted decorations.
